Overachieving high school senior Tony Sullivan just wants to get through one more production so that he can move on to Harvard and the rest of his life. The problem is that high school doesn't seem quite ready to let Tony go, as one thing after another keeps going horribly wrong. If it weren't enough to have an overly dramatic lead actor, an overmedicated teacher singing songs from Cats backstage at the top of her lungs, and the mother of one of the tech crew arriving to "take her boy home" in the middle of the show, Tony's mother keeps calling to see if he's heard from Harvard, the show's female lead is M.I.A. and being replaced by Tony's old girlfriend, and the Harvard recruiter has shown up, wanting to have a "talk." Will the show go on? Will Tony? Techies is both a comic look at one of life's most important transitions and a loving tribute to the unsung heroes of the stage, the kids who sit in the dark and make the magic happen.see less
